Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ConsultKarlo Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("ConsultKarlo", "we") collects, uses, and protects information when you use consultkarlo.com or related services. By using our platform, you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

1a. Account information

• Name, mobile number, email address
• PAN, GST number where applicable for invoicing
• Profile photo (optional)

1b. Consultation data

• Topics you select, search queries, expert profiles you view
• Call recordings (only with explicit per-session consent), transcripts, and notes
• Documents you choose to upload during a consultation

1c. Payment information

We never store full card numbers. Payment processing is handled by Razorpay/PCI-DSS compliant providers. We retain transaction IDs and amounts for tax and audit purposes.

1d. Technical data

• IP address, device, browser, OS
• Cookies for session management and analytics (you can opt out)

2. How we use it

• To match you with verified CA/CS experts and run your sessions
• To process payments, issue invoices, and remit tax
• To improve search quality, fraud detection, and customer support
• To send transactional alerts (booking confirmations, receipts) — never marketing without consent

3. Sharing

We share information only when necessary:

• With the expert you've booked — your name, the topic, and any documents you've shared.
• With payment processors for the transaction itself.
• With legal authorities only when required by Indian law (court orders, ICAI/ICSI investigations, tax authorities).
• We never sell your data.

4. Recordings and notes

Call recordings are opt-in per session. If enabled, recordings are encrypted at rest, accessible only to you and the expert, and auto-deleted after 90 days unless you save them. Session notes you create are stored in your dashboard until you delete them.

5. Your rights

• Access — request a copy of your data anytime.
• Correction — fix inaccuracies via your profile.
• Deletion — request account deletion via privacy@consultkarlo.com. Some financial records are retained for 8 years per Indian tax law.
• Portability — export your data as JSON.

6. Security

We use TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, and SOC 2-aligned operational controls. Two-factor authentication is available; we strongly recommend enabling it.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which pages help users. You can disable cookies in your browser; the platform will still function for booking but some personalisation is lost.

8. Children

The service is not intended for users under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we will remove the account.

9. Changes

We will notify you by email at least 14 days before any material change to this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current revision.
